▎에센셜오일 소개

스위트 바질은 많은 나라에서 흔히 볼수있는 향초식물로서 꿀풀과의 특색을 계승하고 완강한 생명력을 갖고있는데 예하면 백리향이나 로즈마리,바질도 그러한데 이는 방대한 가족을 가지고 있습니다. 5000년전에 인도사람들은 바질을 재배하기 시작했고 나륵은 현재 이딸리아요리와 남아시아요리의 중요한 조미료로 사용되고 있으며 잎은 회향과 류사한 냄새가 강하여 식재료의 다양함을 더해줄수 있습니다.

흔히 볼수 있는 바질품종은 상당히 다양합니다. 재배산지에 따라 화학형태(CT)가 다르기 때문에 바질에센셜 오일을 선택할때 화학형태에 유의해야 합니다. 스위트바질은 리나롤 함유량이 높기때문에 열대바질에 비해 무난한 선택이기도 하기에 어린이의 소화기관 창기에 스위트바질을 이용한다면 비교적 적절합니다.

모로코 일대에서 생산되는 1.8 유칼리프톨 로즈마리 생장환경은 기후가 건조하고 고온이며 햇볕이 강렬하지만 자체도 사질, 척박하고 건조한 토양에 적합하기 때문에 이러한 가혹한 성장환경에 대응하여 유칼리프톨 로즈마리는 매우 왕성한 생명력을 보여줍니다.

▎에센셜오일 소개

페퍼 민트 (Mentha) 는 라틴어의 사고 mente에서 유래했습니다. 높이 30-100cm의 다년생 초본식물로 지하줄기와 푸른 잎이 자라며 흰색이나 보라색의 꽃을 피웁니다. 에센셜 오일은 꽃과 잎에서 추출되고 민트는 많은 품종이 있습니다. 아로마테라피에서 흔히 사용하는 박하에센셜 오일은 강한 멘톨냄새를 풍기는 페퍼민트로서 쉽게 식별할수 있습니다.

▎성분 분석

｜주요 성분: 모노테르펜알코올

박하는 여러가지 성분을 함유하고 있는데 주성분인 멘톨 (Menthol, 일명 박하뇌) 은 멘톤 (Menthone), 이소민트 (Isomenthone), 후민트 (Puleggone), 레몬렌 (Limonene), 에틸렌민트 (Menthyl acetate), 1.8 - 유칼립투스 (Cineole), 멘토푸란(Menthofuran), ß-카리오필렌(ß-caryophyllene，카리오필렌이라고도 함), 제르마크렌(Germacrene), 쿠마린, 유황 화합물등이 있습니다.

｜성분 1: 멘톨（Menthol）

멘톨과 캠퍼, 살리실산메틸(Methyl salicylate)은 모두 피부에 흡수되며 간장 대사가 글루쿠로산(glucuronic acid)과 결합하면 담즙과 소변으로 배출된다.

▎에센셜 오일 소개

클라리세이지는 라틴어로'뚜렷하다'는 뜻에서 유래했습니다. 중세기 유럽인들은 눈병치료에 쓰이기도 했기에"See Bith","Eye Bith"라고도 불렸습니다. 풀의 길이가 약 70~120cm인 다년생 초본식물로 잎사귀가 솜털을 덮어 하트형을 만들고 약간의 분홍혹은 연보라색이 섞인 흰색꽃이 피는데 원산지는 남유럽이고 종류는 450종에 달합니다.

클라리세이지는 때로는 2년생 초본식물로 간주되고 때로는 다년생으로 분류되는데 그 에센셜 오일은 꽃의 식목꼭대기와 잎사귀에서 온것으로서 냄새가 아주 독특하고 향기롭고 따뜻하며 풀향과 차의 향을 혼합하였습니다.

▎성분분석

｜주요성분: 리나일 아세테이트

화학조성부분은 상당히 복잡한데 250가지 다향한 성분이 있고 리나룰 (Linalool) , 빅루트 제라니움( Bigroot Geranium), ß-클로브 오일  탄화수소, 스클라레올(sclareol), α-카리오필렌등이 있습니다. 그중 주성분에는 모노테르펜알코올과 에스테르인데 이 두가지 성분은 트루 라벤다의 진정한 주성분입니다.

클라리세이지는 또 아주 보기 드문 스클라레올 (sclareol) 이 있는데 일종의 디테르페노이드 알코올이고 에센셜 오일에서 흔히 볼수없는 대분자인데 휘발성도 비교적 낮고 분자구조가 에스트로겐중의 에스트라디올과 매우 흡사하기때문에"에스트로겐 유사"작용이 있지만 혹은 대뇌변연계에 의해 생성될가능성도 있습니다.

클라리세이지와 가까운 품종으로는 샐비어 버베나카 (S.verbenaca) 과  살비아 프라텐시스 (S.praetensi)s가 있는데 이 두 식물은 모두 고대에 흔히 사용하던 약품으로서 눈병을 치료하고 소화를 돕는 외에 맥주를 양조하고 사향포도주맛내기를 맞추는데 사용하기도 합니다.

▸ Seol 등은 2010년에 동물실험으로 몇가지 에센셜 오일의 항우울효과를 검토한결과 측정된 모든 에센셜 오일중 클라리세이지(5%)가 스트레스해소에 가장 효과가 있는것으로 밝혀졌는데 그 원인은 클라리세이지가 로토닌, 도파민, 아드레날린, GABA 수용기를 조절할수 있기때문일수 있다고 나타났습니다.

▸ Sienkiewicz M 등의 연구에 따르면 클라리세이지와 황색 포도상구균으로 인한 피부상처감염과 관련된 연구가 이루어졌습니다.
